About Socient

Socient was founded with the vision of creating a world-class digital agency and online ventures to support social enterprises run by entrepreneurs and community benefit organizations (CBOs).

A social enterprise is either a for-profit venture or a non-profit organization, which uses business methods to solve social and environmental challenges.  We love working with CBOs because it allows us to make an impact in the community (not just local) through the work that they do.  In short, we help those who help others.

How We Started

In the beginning, we started to ask questions like: How could we create a viable business while serving the community? Will our projects be personally compelling? Will it be something we will use ourselves? How could we start by bootstrapping product development?

So we got busy and started working on Socient Ventures.  Then we assisted social enterprises and CBOs with their web marketing strategies and projects in order to fund our product development cycle.  We also knew that there are social and environmental issues that we are not particularly adept to tackle so we created joint ventures and partnerships, to at least gain traction, expertise, and faster entry to a particular market.

Who's Here

Socient is led by Founder/CEO Victor Ramayrat (Facebook | Twitter | LinkedIn). He has formal training in information systems from Fresno State and masters in business administration from National University. He keeps Socient agile and customer focused. He works with both dedicated in-house team members and virtual assistants, and has many local designer and developer connections around Central Valley.

Socient is a member of Social Enterprise Alliance and Victor serves in the board of several local community benefit organizations.  We invest 10% of our online venture's net earnings to local non-profits and provide as much as 50% revenue share on co-marketing partnerships.

Our Ideal Client

Socient as a digital agency works strictly with CBOs with an interactive marketing budget somewhere around $3,000 to $25,000 (although our ventures serve other types of customers). From time to time, we would do favors and in-kind contributions to CBOs --- and friends - we love working with (like Fresno EDC's FresnoWorks.org campaign --- which we worked on diligently because we love our community and the EDC :).
